About

Youth Arts and Media (YAM) is a collaborative endeavor of arts and human services organizations across Los Angeles working with youth in photography, film, and radio. We seek to celebrate youth culture and to build community in a richly diverse city.

Goals and Objectives

1. Build a coalition between youth arts & media organizations and programs in Los Angeles.

  • Meet monthly as the Youth Arts and Media Coalition to share ideas and plan the annual festival.
  • Build a website that aims to connect youth arts and media organizations in LA through a comprehensive event calendar and information about shared resources.

2. Celebrate the arts and media projects of youth from geographically diverse parts of Los Angeles.

  • Hold an annual festival that screens and showcases the work of youth from all over Los Angeles.

3. Connect youth to higher education and career opportunities in arts and media fields.

  • Develop relationships with organizations that offer work experience, internships and scholarships for youth in the arts and media world, both in Los Angeles and beyond.

    Hi,
I’m having a mild panic attack in that I can’t remember if I did send the Quicktime file of my student’s film that was selected for the festival tomorrow. The Mary Pickford Institute Raquel Avalos’ “Grandma”. Can someone confirm for me that you did receive it?

    thanks,
    Manon
