General Submission Guidelines

DEADLINE – Your photo/film submission must be postmarked, delivered, or emailed to the contact below by July 15th, 2011.

Film/Animation Submission Guidelines

1. Youth up to 19 may submit.
2. The video/film/animation must be created, filmed and edited by youth. Adults can be involved as advisors,
instructors & mentors.
3. The maximum length allowed is 20 minutes. There is no minimum length.
4. The video/film/animation can be any style or genre.
5. Please submit your video/film/animation on a DVD or miniDV tape. You can submit the video as a digital file (full quality Quicktime is preferred) or as a playable DVD format. Submissions cannot be returned.
6. All submissions must be accompanied by the name, age, school or nonprofit (if applicable) of the film’s principal producers/creators. Also include contact info (phone number and email).
7. The video remains the property of the submitter, however, by submitting the film the submitter agrees to allow YAM to use the submission to publicize future festivals.
8. Organizations or schools who want to present work from their programs at YAM please contact Jerold Kress (jkress |at| bresee.org) or Lisa Marr (lmarrinla |at| hotmail.com).

Photo Submission Guidelines

1) Artists must be between the ages of 14 and 19.
2) All work must have been created by youth: shot and edited by youth.
Adults may be involved as advisors, instructors, or mentors.
3) Both black and white and/or color photograph submissions will be accepted.
4) There is a limit of 5 images per person submitting.
5) Digital submissions are highly encouraged. Original prints may be submitted but will not be returned.
6) When submitting digital files, please make sure that the file is at least 10MB prior to being compressed as a JPEG.
7) Please include the dimensions of each piece.
8) Please include titles and / or captions for each piece.

Artists selected for the show will be notified by August 7th. All images selected for the exhibition will be printed and installed for the artist. The Youth Arts and Media festival will take place from 1 to 5 pm on September 24, 2011 at:

***Please note: The photographs remain the property of the submitter, however, by submitting the photographs the submitter agrees to allow Venice Arts and the Youth Arts and Media Festival to use the media to publicize future festivals and to distribute the submitted media for educational purposes. The artist will receive credit if her / his work is used.
